So, this is more for my reference than anything else. I’m tossing Dean into the game all by his lonesome from this AU, and so I need to know how he would react to everyone around him, despite their canon differences. This will probably get him in loads of trouble.

I will enjoy it.

NOTE: This is a universe where the only supernatural elements are in terms of Rambaldi and his teachings, which for the most part Dean isn’t involved in. This is a verse about spies. Therefore, all “supernatural” characters (angels and demons, mostly) are being appropriated to that purpose. This list is also divided by area that the character belongs to, according to Dean.

FAMILY
  • Sam Winchester - Baby brother and best friend. The more intelligent of the two, and Dean isn’t ashamed to admit that. Sam graduated from Stanford with a degree in IT and Computer Programming in 2006, and is the one responsible for handling most of the tech when they go on their jobs. Most of the time Dean wants to kill him because he keeps getting himself into trouble, but in a brotherly, affectionate way. Sam is also his partner in their little mercenary business, and they do the best they can to help out the right people—which he, for the most part, relies on Sam’s gut for. Dean’s instincts are good, but they don’t always say right or wrong. Sam’s, usually, for the most part, say right. Except for the fact that most women he’s attracted to try to kill them. It’s a problem Dean’s trying to get him to fix.

  • Bobby Singer - Grumpy, disillusioned ex-CIA operative who retired to the sticks of South Dakota, and pretty much raised Sam and Dean while John was out looking for the man who killed their mother. Bobby’s the guy you don’t want to meet in a dark alley when someone wants you dead, but underneath it all, he’s just a giant softie who is seventy-five percent responsible for the men the boys are today. As far as Dean’s concerned, he had two fathers—but not in that awkward, gay kind of way.

  • John Winchester - Marine turned CIA operative, John was a loyal company man for many years. He was actually recruited into the business by the father of his soon-to-be wife at the time, Mary Campbell. When his wife was killed when Sam was six months-old, John went rogue to find the man that did it, and he and the boys went into hiding, always moving around and never sitting still long enough to leave a trace, up until he left them with Bobby in South Dakota. John was killed in a firefight with Azazel, the man who killed Mary twenty-two years later. Dean still wears his father’s dog tags as an honor to his memory, and … of course, co-opted his father’s car, a ’67 Chevy Impala.

  • Mary Winchester, nee Campbell - Daughter of CIA operative Samuel Campbell and his wife, Deanna, Samuel wanted Mary to join the CIA and essentially raised her to do so. Mary, however, wanted nothing to do with the idea, and did everything she could to keep herself from falling into a life of isolation and fear. She met a nice Marine when they were in DC for a conference, fell in love with him, and then her father recruited him into the CIA. Mary was less than pleased, but she loved John and wasn’t about to abandon that for anything. They had two children, Dean and Sam, and when Sam was six months old, she was brutually murdered by a man, codename Azazel, who was coming after John for a job he had done for the CIA. Her death is something that Dean still carries with him every day, mostly because John drilled it into him as a child, but he does what he does because he thinks it will make his mother’s memory proud, and that’s what he strives for more than anything else.

  • THE CIA:
The CIA is basically the Alias-equivalent of the garrison for the Winchester boys. They’re the “good guys” for all intents and purposes, but they do not-so-nice things, and the Winchesters, for the most part, don’t like them. Their angelic names are “code names” to cover their real names. Anyhoo:
  • Robert Lindsey (Zachariah) - (Yes, Emily is shamelessly using the fact that Kurt Fuller was in both shows.) Dean doesn’t know much about this guy beyond the fact that he’s a docuhebag. They’ve had a few close encounters, where Lindsey tried to force them into the CIA. Needless to say, they’re not friends, they never will be, and Dean and Sam had a celebration beer when they heard he was dead.

  • Henry White (Raphael) - Another member of the CIA they’re not friends with. Raphael has actually tried to kill them and their friends on several occasions. Mostly, they avoid each other if they can help it.

  • Jonathan Wisdom (Uriel) - See above. Same shit, different day. He was actually rather close with the CIA agent they got to turn to their side, and stabbed him in the back, so there’s a larger bit of hate for him. He’s presumed dead, however—according to Castiel, he was killed by Anna Milton, and the boys took his word for it.

  • Anna Milton - Operative, assassin, and … general crazy lady. Dean is terrified of her. She used to be an ally, once upon a time, before she was captured by a rogue element and tortured for information. Somewhere in the middle, something inside her snapped, and she came back a little bit off the handle, and she and the Winchesters aren’t so much friends anymore after she tried to kill them. They try to avoid her if they can help it.

  • ALLIES:
  • Ellen and Jo Harvelle - A mother-daughter team who owns a cantina in a small town outside of Caracas. They’re more of an information hub than anything else, a place where people cross paths to share information or find things they need. Jo is also probably the most sane girl that Dean’s brother has ever had an interest in. He wishes that had stuck together for more than a couple months, but at least she didn’t want to shoot both of them when it was over.

  • Jimmy Novak (Castiel) - Jimmy Novak was a CIA agent who was a source of information for the boys for a long time. For the most part, he remained an agent, until he learned that Robert Lindsey had arranged to have his family killed in hopes that it would drive him back to the agency to search for revenge. Unfortunately for Lindsey, it only drove Jimmy further away. He started going strictly by his callsign, “Castiel,” and working outside the lines, mostly with the Winchesters. He’s Dean’s best friend and Dean would do anything for him.

  • Chuck “the Prophet” Shurley - He’s Mr. Universe and Watchtower rolled into one, but with less social skills and a fondness for bathrobes. Dean and Sam give him a call when they need some quick and dirty information, and they usually pay him in booze. They like the guy, he’s just a little hard to hang out with sometimes.

  • OTHER:
  • Bela Talbot - Go-between and opportunist. Bela’s the kind of girl who makes things happen. She connects people, steals things that are needed, and makes quite a bit of money doing it. She and Dean have an odd relationship. She’s shot Dean and Sam several times, they’ve shot her several times, but he still finds her kind of hot. She’s not quite a friend, but she’s a good contact to have and they bounce back and forth on occasion.

  • “Gabriel” - Ex-CIA operative gone rogue when he decided he didn’t like the way the organization was heading. Has taken to taking down the people he feels need humbling to a rather violent end. The boys have encountered him once or twice, and they wouldn’t call him a “friend” exactly, but he seems to like them, so they’re not looking a gift horse in the mouth. Also slightly insane, but on a less trigger happy level than Anna.

  • Ruby - Not her real name. Part of a group of assassins that go by that name to cover their tracks. They met the first one in 2008, and she was killed in a showdown with another killer named Lilith. The second Ruby they met was in their lives a little longer. Sam actually fell for her for a while, which Dean thought was insane, but that got cleared up when she tried to kill them, and Dean had to take matters into his own hands to protect his brother. He, personally, would like to never meet another Ruby again. He’s not holding his breath.
